If food isn’t barrier then what is?

7:25 Note that an “unclean spirit” is again afoot: this possessed girl is not under the reign and rule of God. 24 The parallel to 1:23–28 is striking. Ministry to a people (in chapter 1 the Jews; here the Gentiles) begins with a confrontation with forces arrayed against God’s gracious reign and rule (once again stressing the importance of the spiritual dimension). This is an initial concrete indication that the Gentiles are on the same footing as the Jews, as suggested by 7:1–23; their problem is the same. Note that falling at someone’s feet is “the gesture of a client seeking a favor from a patron or broker.”

13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” 15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.”

Crumbs - obstinate

I want more - Strength to receive.

But note that, as good as it is, the woman’s vision is not large enough! The woman is willing to settle for crumbs. But God never reduces his grace to “crumbs” when he gives! Israel receives overflowing bread with myriad crumbs left over in the feeding of five thousand men (6:35–44)—in addition to the eschatological healing of her sick with various diseases (1:34; 6:54–56) and the freeing of her spirit/demon-possessed (1:26, 34).

Isaiah 49:6 ESV
he says: “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

Woman at the well

John 4:13

13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” 15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.”
